What is Transderm? Transderm Meso Therapy is a bi-phasal treatment which starts with Ultrapeel Microdermabrasion, followed by a combination of electrical pulses and vibration massage. Kicking off the treatment, superficial microdermabrasion is carried out with the aim of reducing the skin’s resistance whilst increasing its permeability to boost the absorption of beneficial active ingredients. The Ultrapeel Microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin’s stratum corneum (uppermost layers) using a pre-sterilized jet of corundum crystals, which cause virtually no irritation or change in skin’s protective pH. The next step of the treatment involves the introduction of specific electrical pulses which are synchronized with a vibration massage.

Known as dermoelectroporation®, it allows the absorption of beneficial ingredients with large molecules, such as Hyaluronic Acid, into the skin in as little as 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the area and the individual patient’s skin. The procedure temporarily lowers the patient’s skin impedance and allows for even transdermal delivery of the active ingredients over the whole treatment area.

It also allows the easy penetration and absorption of the active substances into the dermis where they are able to work most effectively, rather than simply remaining on the skin’s surface. For face, neck and decollete rejuvenation, Revitalase is used in combination with Transderm. This compound, created by Mattioli Engineering, is a sterile, isotonic solution containing Hyaluronic Acid, which acts as an effective antioxidant and skin hydrator and TGF beta synthesized by epithelial growth factors, to simulate collagen and protect cellular function. For excessive perspiration, Transderm can also be used to introduce Botox to the underarm area to reduce the action of the sweat glands.

What to expect? Transderm is virtually painless and causes no trauma, bruising, lesions or skin irritations. Most people find the massage stage of the treatment to be moderately relaxing. The entire treatment lasts for between 45 and 50 minutes for the initial treatment, with subsequent treatments taking just 30 minutes. There is no downtime required and normal activities can be resumed immediately post-treatment.
